My cousin had a new baby girl recently and I wanted to make a baby blanket for her. I was looking around the net for some blanket patterns and stumbled upon a site called Crochet Concupiscence.
There patterns cater to both beginners and advanced crocheters, I’ll definitely be using one of these patterns, I’ll post the one I choose once I’m done.
In the meantime here’s a few of the blankets that I’m thinking of:
Here is a tutorial on how to do a slip stitch and start a foundation row using a chain stitch, I hope it’s useful to you.
A double crochet tutorial for beginners from my new Youtube channel…please subscribe if you like the video.
I started crocheting late last summer (2012), I decided I wanted to learn a new skill. My sis works at Micheal’s Craft store and mentioned that they teach classes so I decided to take a couple to get started.
It’s become one of my favourite things to do…here are a couple of baby blankets that I’ve done.
This one is for my nephew, I made it for his Christening in January 2013, it took me a couple of weeks to do (on and off), in all I’d sat about 8-10 hours
This is a circle or Pinwheel (or burrito) blanket, when I first saw these I thought they were really weird. I tried it and loved it, I’m on my second one now, I’ll post it when I’m done.
- Crochet Baby Blanket
A friend of mine recently had a little boy and I made this blanket for him. I used about 4 balls of the Bernat “Baby Blanket” yarn, the Crochet hook I used for this was #9. It took about 6 hours total.
I used a basic double crochet stitch for the entire blanket and finished off with a single crochet edging.
